Spring Mother & Daughter Yorkie Photo Session | North Lawrence, Ohio Pet Photography
Updated: Jun 21, 2019
I had the pleasure of doing a session with two darling little Yorkie ladies recently. Abbey (photo above) and her daughter Mia (below). They were so much fun to photograph! As I have been a Yorkie lover and owned my own Yorkies for over 20 years, I was in heaven hanging out with these two balls of energy. They quickly learned that I had food, and by the end of the session they were following me everywhere!
It was so stinkin' hot the day of our session, over 90 degrees! We took a lot of breaks for the girls and let one rest and cool off inside the house while we worked with the other. This plan worked out pretty well, and we were able to get some really cute photos of each dog by themselves without them overheating or getting too stressed out.
Of course, we managed to get a couple of really adorable shots of them together too. Luckily these daisies were in full bloom and made a perfect backdrop for a funky, fun, wide-angled hero shot of the girls. Mia's (right) expression cracks me up!
Finally the sun was low enough on the horizen to get some magical backlit portraits of Abbey and her mom. I love to focus on the dogs themselves during my sessions, but I always advise pet parents to be prepared in case part or all of you ends up in a photo! In this case it worked out beautifully with Abbey's mom adding to the story of this photo.
As the final rays of the sun dipped out of sight, we took Abbey up to the top of a slight hill and I was able to grab this quick silhouette. I love these types of photos! Overall we had a wonderfully fun time running around with these noble ladies.
